An Austinite Site Introduction

The Future is Here

Hello to all you people that love to travel! This is Reilly Eerkes-McCarthy, the creator of “An Austenite Site,” and I am here to introduce to everyone the great city of Austin, Texas, and all of its amenities.

As a naturally born Texan, I have only one place to call home. From the years of 1999-2018, I lived in Austin, Texas, year-round. I was born in Central Austin and moved south of the river when I was six.

Once I was old enough to start my education, my first landing spot was Joe Dan Mills elementary school. Early on I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD. I transferred to Rawson Saunders and eventually St. Francis private schools, to get into smaller classroom sizes and more focused help for my learning challenges. After 8th grade, I came back to public school and graduated from James Bowie High-School.

Once I was handed my High-School diploma, I found myself facing lots of decisions. I hadn’t settled on a college yet and the Fall was right around the corner. I chose to attended Schreiner University my Freshman year. Then I transferred to Texas State, in San Marcos, where I am currently study Mass Communications. One of the best things about Texas State is that I’m only thirty minutes away from one of my favorite places in the world; my hometown Austin, TX.         This website is designed to target a wide range of audiences as an online travel flyer that offers examples and descriptions of some of the best attractions in Austin.

For those who like to party, “An Austinite Site” will provide information about events such as music festivals like ACL to activities such as Eeyore’s birthday party.

For families, we will provide information about family-friendly activities such as stand-up paddle boarding at Town Lake, Hill Country daytrips and theatre productions at Zilker Metropolitan Park. ” An Austinite Site,” will also present great restaurants and bars around town for all to enjoy.

I am excited to present what Austin has to offer and help people fall in love with the city as much as I have. Like us on Twitter and watch for us on Instagram. Now let me help you find your inner Austenite!
